Dear Christian Friends,

As most of you know already, we will be offering live services at Grace starting Saturday, May 16th at 6 PM and then again on Sunday at 8:30 and 11AM. There will be no Bible Study and Video only Sunday School until further notice. Below please find some frequently asked questions about the re-opening process and their answers.

In Christ,

Pastor Loughran

Who should come? Ultimately this is a personal decision, but the CDC, State of Florida and local officials recommend that people who are over 65 or have a pre-existing medical condition should continue to follow the safer at home orders. We will continue to offer video services and as always you may call the church office to schedule a private time to receive Holy Communion.

Please note that you must stay home if you have any COVID symptoms. If in doubt, please stay home. For those who do come please do not arrive more than 15 minutes early as the doors will not open until then. This is particularly true for the 11 AM Sunday service where we must sanitize the Sanctuary after the 8:30 AM service in a short period of time.

What should I expect when I arrive? Touchless is the key word. We are only entering through the Welcome Center so please park on the Haines Rd. side of the building – the 16th street side and fenced in parking lots will remain closed. You will be greeted at that Welcome Center door and asked to wait at the entry way to the Sanctuary to be ushered in.

All services will be on the screen, but each will retain its normal character and musical accompaniment. There are no hymnals, Bibles or pew cards available for use during the service. There will be offering plates in the Welcome Center for use after or before the service. We also ask that you not go on campus for any reason. It's only the sanctuary that is open. The bathrooms in the glass enclosure and gym will be open for use.

Should I wear a mask? Yes, or some form of mouth covering, although it's not required, we want people to feel safe when coming to church. Vicar and Pastor will be wearing masks and gloves for Communion Distribution. Pastor will drop the host into your hands (no oral communion – host placed on the tongue - will be offered at this time) you should take the individual cup from the tray. The elder of the service will have the Common Cup should you desire it. Distribution will be continuous Communion at all services. Please wait until the usher signals you to leave your pew and also follow social distancing instructions.

What about dismissal? You will be ushered out in the same way that you entered, think of a wedding, pew by pew in order to avoid congestion in the Welcome area. As difficult as it may be, we ask that you not congregate in the parking lot. Some communities, like Naples, have been forced to stop or slow the re-opening process because people did not adhere to Social Distancing guidelines. We want to avoid that!

Finally, we understand that many of you are worried about coming out of your house. Please don't feel forced. There will be no judgment here about who is coming or not coming. This is uncharted territory. We are doing everything that we can to keep you safe and make you feel welcomed as we open back up. Also don't be upset if you see a few of your brothers and sisters without masks or face coverings. Some people suffer from claustrophobia or feel extremely constrained. By maintaining Social Distancing, you will be safe regardless.

See you some time soon. Know that you are missed and prayed for.
