Grace Lutheran Church Saint Petersburg

Outside Groups

There’s no question that Grace has been blessed with a wonderful facility. Therefore we have been very anxious to share our building with outside community groups that are in need of a location to call home. Currently, we are pleased that you will find the following groups regularly meeting here.

AA Common Solutions (Mondays 8 pm) Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is a nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem.

Al-Anon Steps 2 Recovery & Couples in Recovery (Mondays 8 pm; Thursdays 7pm) The Al-Anon family groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to help resolve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of Alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.

Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance (Fridays 7 pm & Saturdays 9:30 am) The mission of the DBSA is to improve the lives of people living with depression, bipolar disorder, or mood disorders. DBSA strongly supports peer support as a way to improve a person’s recovery, social inclusion, empowerment, quality of life, meaning of life and hope. It improves recovery by helping people rediscover their strengths and participate in their treatment. It assists with social inclusion by helping people build or rebuild interpersonal skills through relating to others in support groups. By helping patients and families learn all they can about depression and bipolar disorder, peer support increases empowerment.
